Album Update #8

Four Down, One To Go

Welcome to the 8th album update! I’m so glad you’re here.

The snow continues to accumulate as I type this. Layering up in my snow pants and boots this morning to fill the bird feeders, the drifts had reached well over my knees. I absolutely love huge snow dumps like we’re getting here in VT. The only thing that annoys me about storms like this is the invasive and man-made sounds of snow blowers and plows alike. Alas, I guess we just all have to keep on going to work, going to stores - or maybe - heading off to steep ourselves in nature at the sledding hill or the ski slopes.
(I said hello and passed my gloved hand across our monster arborvitaes during my little jaunt outside. Say hi to a tree near you today, and take note of how you feel. Silly, maybe, but a deep and natural and ancient connection, for sure.)

Friends, I have four songs recorded and one song to go. My most recent session in the studio was at the end of January and I brought a brand new song in to work on - like, brand spanking new, written the week before. It’s a lot of fun, and playfully speaks to our need to seek help and trust the process. I used a beautiful Gretsch electric guitar, and we adding a bunch of vocal harmonies. I also re-recorded the vocals for Infatuation, and wow! I am meeting so many characters within myself who are coming out to sing with me.

I only have one more song to record and I’m feeling a little stumped. I don’t know whether to pull from the archives or start fresh with a new song. I’m leaning towards the latter.

Any requests? I’m here to hear it.

With love and appreciation and snow sparkle and pine pitch,

Allison
